ICC World Test Championship: Are you curious to know about this new evolution?



ICC World Cup 2019 has been ended with a controversial note. Nevertheless, We got a new Champion as England. They deserved to be a Champion. Their vigorous hard work and fearless Cricket for 4 years has finally paid off.

Now, People started anticipating about ICC Test Championship which will be launched with Ashes Series 2019. The craze of Test Cricket has descended since the T-20 has arrived. The spectators have not taken interest in Test Cricket which has been a vital part of Cricket. It will be played like bilateral series only but with the added factor of Competition.


The top 9 teams would participate in this test Championship. It will be inaugurated with Aus vs Eng on 1st Aug 2019. Every team will play 6 series, 3  away series, and 3 home series. There will be points distribution in every series they played. You can earn a maximum of 120 points in each series.

After the 2 years of Cycle, the Top 2 team who will get the maximum number of points will play the final on June 2021 at the UK where Winner will be a Champion of ICC Test Championship. The top 9 teams have been decided by ICC test Rankings as on 31st March 2018. There are 9 teams as England, India, Australia, South Africa, Newzealand, Srilanka, Bangladesh,  Pakistan, and West Indies. There will be 27 series and 72 matches within this 2 year of Cricket. 

England will play a maximum number of Matches, with 22 as scheduled. Australia and India would play 19 & 18 matches respectively. You can earn equal points in every series even if it is 2 match series or 5 match Series. 

Being an Indian fan, I hope the Indian Cricket team will perform dominantly and We'll do great in this new Evolution.
